Capitals blow out Bruins 7-0 in season opener
On Wednesday night, the Bruins opened their 2018-19 regular season with an ugly 7-0 blowout loss to the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Washington Capitals. Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask had a rough night, allowing five goals in 27 minutes before being replaced by backup goalie Jaroslav Halak. This opening night loss was the team’s worst in its history. It’s also the Bruins 13th straight loss to the Washington Capitals. Ouch.

Dropping the gloves
In a blowout game, you expect things will probably get heated at some point in the game. There were two fights in this game, the first fight was in the second period at 6:45 between Bruins Sean Kuraly and Capitals Madison Bowey. You can watch the Kuraly vs Bowey fight video here.
The second fight was in the third period at 13:54. It included ex-Montreal player Lars Eller, who Bruins fans have waited so long to see get pounded by a Bruins player because of his antics over the years. Well the Bruins player that put a beatdown on Capitals Lars Eller was everyone’s favorite Brad Marchand. Marchand and the Bruins didn’t like how Eller celebrated as he skated by the Bruins bench after scoring the 7th goal in a blowout game and Marchand made sure to leave a mark that Eller will never forget. Marchand received an instigator penalty and a misconduct. You can watch the Marchand vs Eller fight video here.
